Janmashtami marks the divine appearance of Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Scriptures describe His birth at midnight in Mathura, and the joy of Nanda Maharaja and the Vrajavasis the following day.
Hare Krishna Movement Tirupati observes the day with kirtan, readings, abhisheka, naivedya, and nityannadana so families can hear the holy names and honour prasadam together.
Srila Prabhupada appeared the day after Janmashtami. On 5 September 2026 the temple also celebrates Nandotsava and his appearance.
Come with your family for darshan, kirtan, and prasadam.
Programme order can shift slightly — the temple desk will post the day’s schedule at reception.
Temple opens from 7:00 AM. Join japa, kirtan, and the day’s first darshan of Sri Radha Shyamasundara.
